How to Know If You’ve Been Cursed or Hexed

A spiritual guide to detect, protect, and return dark magic

Not everything in the spiritual path is light. Just as there are guides, there are entities. Just as there are rituals of healing, there are also rituals of harm, domination, and destruction. Black magic, ceremonial satanism, dark African witchcraft, and misused Palo Mayombe can leave deep imprints on our energetic field — even if we are strong, conscious, and spiritually aware.

This article is a realistic guide to identifying when you’ve been targeted by actual witchcraft. It’s not about paranoia, but experience. When magic is executed with intention and entity work, you cannot simply “ignore it and vibrate high”.
You must act — cleanse, protect, and return what does not belong to you.

Signs You May Be Under Spiritual Attack

  • Constant pressure in the chest or knot in the stomach upon waking
  • Nightmares with strange symbols, snakes, coffins, dead people or entities staring at you
  • Persistent mental fog or confusion even in peaceful moments
  • Health issues without medical explanation, constant blockages, or sudden relationship breakdowns
  • Random arguments with loved ones or a heavy, tense energy at home
  • Unusual smells (rotten, sulfur, or dead flowers) in closed spaces
  • Appearance of strange insects, black feathers, dolls, or unidentified substances in unexpected places

Real Rituals to Cleanse, Reverse, and Break Black Magic

1. The Black Candle Body Sweep Ritual

What you need:

  • 1 black candle (natural wax preferred)
  • Wooden matches
  • Silence and full focus

Ritual:

  1. Light incense or white sage to purify the space.
  2. Take the black candle and sweep it over your entire body, from head to feet, saying: “May this candle absorb all darkness, every spell, curse or entity sent to me.”
  3. Do it with faith, fierce intention, and sacred fire.
  4. When done, light the candle in a safe place.
  5. Watch it burn and say: “Here, darkness dissolves. Here, witchcraft dies.”
  6. Let it burn completely and bury the remains away from home, or discard them using gloves.

2. Complete Reversal (Volteo) Ritual

What you need:

  • 1 glass cup (never used again for food)
  • Water, salt, white vinegar, black pepper, juice of 1 lemon
  • Whole garlic cloves (one per person you suspect)
  • 1 black candle

Optional: If you know who cursed you, write their name on each garlic clove.

Ritual:

  1. In the glass: mix water, salt, vinegar, lemon juice, and black pepper. Add the garlic cloves.
  2. Cover with a plate and turn the glass upside down.
  3. Take a black candle. Cut the bottom so the wick is exposed.
  4. Light the top and drip wax over the glass.
  5. Stick the candle upside down onto the glass.
  6. Light the wick that is now at the top.
  7. While it burns, say: “I reverse all evil that has been sent to me. Let it return to the sender. Let it not touch my home, my blood, or my soul.”
  8. Once fully melted, flush the contents down the toilet using gloves.
  9. Clean the cup and plate with vinegar and salt if you plan to use them only for magic. Never for food.

3. 7 or 21-Wick Break Spell Candles

These candles are designed to shatter deep work, pacts, curses, bindings or entity-based witchcraft.

Tips:

  • Perform during a waning moon or new moon.
  • Set up a cleansing altar with salt, rue, obsidian, and a glass of water.
  • Light the candle and say: “For every wick that burns, one dark tie breaks. No shadow can reach me. What is not mine dissolves.”
  • Let it burn fully and observe the signs: flame behavior, smoke, wax shapes.

Final Thoughts: Know, Don’t Fear

Witchcraft is real. Not all who practice magic do so with love.
But you are not powerless. Knowledge is your sword. Ritual is your shield. Intention is your key.

When the soul is awake and your action is grounded, no shadow can remain.

Important: The Circle of Salt

In each of these rituals — whether using a black candle, performing the garlic reversal, or burning a 7 or 21-wick breaker — you must protect the work with a circle of salt.

How to do it:
Place a heat-safe dish or tray, and create a thick circle of coarse salt around the candle or glass before beginning the ritual.
This circle acts as an energetic barrier: it contains the spell, prevents backflow, and secures your sacred space.

Say softly as you close the circle:

“Nothing leaves, nothing enters. Here it breaks. Here it ends. I am protected. I am at peace.”

After the ritual, carefully sweep or vacuum the salt, dispose of it far from your home, and clean the space with vinegar or cleansing smoke.

A Warning from the Soul: This Is Not a Game

Although these rituals are powerful and effective, nothing replaces the guidance of a true spiritual professional. Whether you feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or simply want confirmation, it is always best to consult with someone experienced —a priestess, shaman, rootworker, palero, healer, or trusted occult guide.

You can seek help before the ritual, to receive clarity, protection, or assistance in performing the work correctly.
Or you can consult after, to verify whether the ritual worked, if the attack has been neutralized, or if a deeper cleansing is required.

Some forms of magic —especially those involving entities, blood pacts, graveyard dirt, or invoked forces— are not just symbolic. They are spiritually real. They can break a person mentally, emotionally, and even physically.

This is serious. Never approach it as a game. Never play with the invisible.

If you’re not sure, don’t experiment. Seek guidance, light a candle of truth, and protect your path.
Your life, your soul, your peace are sacred.
